This message is for the business and minority communities of Sacramento. The Equity Program was initially adopted to create “paths” for small business and minority communities to enter the cannabis industry; instead of serving these communities, City Hall has made this process exclusive to low income and people arrested or convicted of a crime prior to 2011.
Here is a very pertinent post from the Cannabis FAQ on the Cities website:
The FAQ asks; What is the Equity Program?
The Answer: The Equity Program was adopted by the City Council on November 28, 2017 to create a path for small businesses, women and veteran-owned businesses and minority communities to enter the cannabis industry.
Now folks, this selection process is inherently discriminatory, because not only does City Hall intentionally and unlawfully deny every military veteran’s right and privilege to sell cannabis in the city of Sacramento, but this process excludes every one of the communities it was created and committed to serve.
If you are a military veteran; or If you feel like you have been unfairly excluded from this process or you just want to join us to stop this sham today; Contact us NOW at 916-538-4215 or www.savecannabis.today that’s 916-538-4215 or www.savecannabis.today
The selection process in the minimum should give priority, first and foremost, to military veterans, to small and women owned business, and minority communities.
This Equity program is exclusionary; discriminatory, and this very process stifles public dissent; it must be stopped!
